Description
The Fuji Electric TK80W120 is a compact braking resistor for use with Fuji FRENIC series variable frequency drives.
When a VFD decelerates a motor, the motor acts as a generator and returns energy to the drive's DC bus. Without a braking resistor, this regenerative energy causes the DC bus voltage to rise and trigger an overvoltage fault, preventing controlled stopping. The TK80W120 dissipates this regenerative energy as heat, enabling fast, repeatable, and controlled motor deceleration without tripping the drive.
Suitable for applications requiring quick stop capability including conveyors, hoists, centrifuges, and winding machinery. Install in a well-ventilated location — the resistor generates significant heat during braking cycles, and must not be enclosed without adequate airflow. Genuine Fuji Electric OEM accessory. Verify compatibility with your specific drive model before ordering.
